Batman: Arkham Asylum
Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 5:13PM I'm Batman

Rocksteady have now taken over and set the new benchmark for what a Superhero tie-in game should be all about.
Batman: Arkham Asylum is such an engaging and immersive superhero environment within the animated series of the Dark Knight adventure. The Joker is on his way into Arkham Asylum and it appears as though he wants to be there - but why?
I'll not spoil it for you, I don't want you missing out on the entertainment value as you utilise Batman's array of gadgets, his elite detective skills and his no holds barred fighting style. The story walks you into the world of Gotham and all it's troubles with Super Villians, whilst giving back to you a thorough history of some of the more violent inmates of Arkham Asylum.
I should note that as an aside to the story The Riddler has set aside puzzles for you to find along the way, these allow you to upgrade your gadgets and abilities; such as improved fighting, batarang upgrades and more. The Riddler has hacked into your comm unit so can follow your every move based on your success finding his riddles - consider it a varied inner monologue as you do your detective thing.
Of recent, there are few and far between games that provide replay value. A game for many I know to have that kind of value was Crackdown, and for some this may have a feeling much like Batman. So I'll let you all go while I hunt down the last few riddles and then I'm going back to the start, there is a trophy I want to get but it requires me going all the way through again... such fun!
I'll see you in the Asylum.
